Subject: Pol Pot and Shakespeare

Scott Simon describes the dead Pol Pot as looking like, "an ordinary man," like the dead Stalin, dead Mengele, etc., as if that should be somehow surprising. The humanity of the "monsters" might be less remarkable if we took the time to read and learn from the characters in the Shakespeare plays the lesson which was pointed out in that segment of your program today: that all individuals are a mixture of good and evil.
